Texans and Chiefs Can’t Agree on a Trade for Wesley

Wesley

The Texans are looking for some new blood at safety, and have spoken to the Chiefs about a possible trade for veteran safety Greg Wesley.  The eight-year veteran recently lost his starting job in camp, and seems to be expendable but the Chiefs are not exactly giving him up without a fight.  Word is the Chiefs want a sixth-round pick for Wesley, and the Texans are not willing to give that up for a player that is going to sit the bench in KC.  It could be now where the Texans sit back and wait and see if the Chiefs release Wesley, and you can mark it down if that happens, he’ll be visiting Houston.  Word also is that Wesley wouldn’t have accepted a one-year deal for the $860,000 minimum, anyway.  He is entering his third-year of a six-year deal that he signed back in 2004.
