Texans Re-Sign DT Cederic Killings

Killings

The Texans have re-signed defensive tackle Cedric Kililngs, as the team enters tomorrows game vs the Panthers banged up at that position.  Both Texans starters rookie Amobi Okoye and Travis Johnson are hurting, as Okoye with a toe and Johnson with a ankle.  Right now it is not known if either is going to be able to play.  With those two hurt, it means that Jeff Zgonina and Anthony Maddox are the only healthy players at the position.

Killings was with the Texans late in the 2006 season when the team was also hit by injuries.  He played well in four games. At 6-feet-2 and 310 pounds, the journeyman Killings is a good player versus the run and can help anchor the interior.  In 32 games, including two starts, Killings has 45 tackles and three sacks.
