Kubiak: WR Jones Was Not Ready Sunday

HC Gary Kubiak suited up WR Jacoby Jones against the Titans on Sunday for the first time after separating his shoulder in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts.  The game began after the Titans took the first drive of the game down for a FG, and then the Titans kicked off to the Texans.  Jones received the kick, and then carefully returned the ball to the 23-yard line.  Jones was tackled hard again when the first Texans play was a Jones screen pass on the right side of the field.  He outmaneuvered two Titans but couldn’t handle a third.  Then, Shaub called his number again and threw a pass to Jones, in single coverage, on the right side.  He juked one, but couldn’t escape the three Titans who forced Jones’ fumble on the Texans second play of the game.  After the three straight Jones plays it looked like he was played enough, but after the game Kubiak said Jones is ready and back for the season.

In post-game reports, Kubiak said he shouldn’t have put Jones out there.  On Sunday, Jones did not look like Jacoby Jones at Reliant Sunday.  Jacoby, in the preseason, provided a huge sparks on kick returns and on the receiving end for the Texans, including a flash kick return in a Texans Win at Reliant over the Cowboys.
