Texans May Play in San Diego After All
Posted by Matt Loede on October 26th, 2007 in News
After nearly a week of waiting, the Texans learned Thursday that they may end up playing Sunday’s game against the Chargers just as planned. Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego has been used all week as a shelter for evacuees of nearby wildfires, but the city’s mayor says the stadium will be ready for Sunday. Texans owner Bob McNair has been lobbying to move the game to Houston’s Reliant Stadium. Now the decision is up to the NFL and Chargers management. There’s still some concern about the air quality in San Diego because of ashes being spread by the wildfires, so NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will be carefully weighing his decision on where and when to play.
