Texans Release Orr, Sign Kershaw
Posted by Jesse Rios on November 29th, 2007 filed in NewsThe Houston Texans released veteran Texan Shantee Orr, who’s posted 100 tackles and 10.5 sacks in his five year career under Head Coaches Dom Capers and Gary Kubiak. This season, Orr hasn’t produced for the Texans although his playing time was limited (9 tackles).
William Kershaw, who was signed off of the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad, was first signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2006. He played college ball for Maryland while playing the “Mike” linebacker and as a true senior starter at the weak side linebacker spot. He recorded 135 tackles (69 solo), 7 sacks, two interceptions and four fumble recoveries as a senior. The new team change could bring some playing time for Kershaw on special teams or in the line-up. He will turn 24 on December 15.
