Pitts Will Face Charges Of Evading Arrest
Posted by Matt Loede on December 4th, 2007 filed in NewsA grand jury will hear the case of Texans offensive lineman Chester Pitts. He’s accused of evading arrest during a traffic stop last week. Pitts was in court for a probable cause hearing Monday, just a day after the Texans lost to the Tennessee Titans on the road. Prosecutors say Pitts was pulled over along with several other vehicles after making an illegal left turn near Reliant Stadium. According to the police report, Pitts drove away while the officer was finishing up some paperwork. Officials say that he then refused to stop until the officer forced his car up against a curb. Pitts is free on bond, and he says it is all a big misunderstanding. He faces up to two years’ jail time if convicted.
