Texans Sign Two Guards and a Center

The 5-and-7 Texans have signed guard Mike Brisiel and guard/center Drew Hodgdon to bolster the roster in preparation for Sunday’s noon game at Reliant Stadium against Tampa Bay.  Hodgdon was cut from the team August 31st, but now will join Brisiel to fill in the roster for guard Fred Weary and guard/center Chris White, who are said to be going on injured reserve.  The Texans will release their injury report today, which will update the status of quarterback Matt Schaub, who dislocated his non-throwing shoulder last Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.  The Texans have also signed guard Dan Stevenson to the practice squad.  Meanwhile, Tampa Bay is having its own quarterback problems.  Star Jeff Garcia missed Sunday’s win by the Buccaneers at New Orleans with bruised lower back.  Tampa Bay’s head coach says he’s “optimistic” that Garcia will play against Houston Sunday.
