Texans RB Green Put on IR

today, thus ending his first season with the Texans. Green has only played in parts of six of the 12 games this season for the Houston Texans. Although he was a big off-season free agent pick up for the Texans, he has suffered a lingering knee injury that could point to the end of his career in
According to the Houston Chronicle, Green would play a couple of plays and be out of the game as he kept feeling his knee’s lingering injury. Green said, “I want to make sure I help my team by being honest with them about how I feel, so they can be ready for the game in terms of having guys on the field that are healthy and can get the job done.” Green’s honesty is well respected as the Texans can suit up a third back or an extra offensive linemen for every game rather than awaiting Green’s injury and game time decision status.
Green is the 17th player to be placed on the IR. The Texans lead the league in players on the IR. Green’s injury paves the way for RBs Ron Dayne, Aminchinobe Echemandu, and Darius Walker.
