Analysts: Texans Out Of Postseason Competition

The Texans apparently won’t get a berth in the playoffs this year, but they can still match their best-ever 7-and-9 record.  Houston’s fallen to 5-and-7 on the season and is still on the outside of the AFC playoffs, but analysts say they could still finish at .500 or even better.  The problem is competition: Lots of other teams are finding ways to get a place in the playoffs.  And the Texans face some strong opposition in the final three games of the season, with Denver, Indianapolis and Jacksonville matchups still ahead.  The Texans went 7-and-9 in the 2004 season and can still approach that with two wins over the next three weeks.
