Playoff Hopes Officially End for Texans

The Texans are doing great historically, but they’re no longer in contention for the playoffs.  The team was eliminated from the AFC wild-card race after 7-and-7 Houston didn’t catch the 10-and-4 Jaguars or 9-and-5 Cleveland or even 9-and-5 Pittsburgh.  The best conference record available to the Texans now would be for them to win their final two games of the season, which still puts them behind the Steelers in the wild-card race.  Even so, the Texans are 7-and-7 for the first time — the best in team history — beating their 2004 record of 7-and-9.
