Demps Says He Was Surprised By Pro Bowl Designation
Posted by Matt Loede on December 20th, 2007 filed in NewsThe 7-and-7 Texans are gearing up for their final road game of the season at noon Sunday, when they play the Colts in Indianapolis. Among the players will be safety Will Demps, who has the good fortune of being a designated Pro Bowl alternate. But Demps says he wasn’t expecting it when it was announced Tuesday. In fact, he thought it was joke when people started talking about it. He says he took it seriously when Texans coach Gary Kubiak called to talk about, because Demps says he knows Kubiak wouldn’t kid about the Pro Bowl.

Besides being a popular Black-Asian American, Depms is an excellent player worth the popularity. I was surprised the Texans got him and didn’t play him so soon after also acquiring Michael Boulware’s trash play weeks earlier. Demps goes off and I wouldn’t mind seeing him starting this year, next year and so on over Earl or the Stanford Rook.
