Texans Add Okobi to O-Line

The Texans added some beef to their offensive line today, as the team added center Chukky Okobi today to the roster.  Okobi had played with the Steelers, and was supposed to be the starting center but when Bill Cowher stepped down and Mike Tomlin came in, Okobi faltered in training camp to the point where he was relased.  The Cardinals picked him up, but they let him go as well.  He will likely start off as a backup with the Texans, but could be a solid part of the O-line rotation if he can prove his worth and plays well.

Great news, and lets hope he’s not a bum like Black was when he first got in last season. Great news though for Rick Smith’s efforts at GM!!!

He asked to be released. He did not falter in training camp. If you look at the offensive stats from the games he started you can see he is actually an outstanding center.
