Wide Out Mathis Arrested for Choking Pregnant Girlfriend

Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Texans wide out Jerome Mathis was arrested this past Sunday for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend. Mathis was booked Sunday night and later released on $3,000 bond. The site states that he has been charged with assault-family violence, which is a misdemeanor. Mathis faces up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $4,000. Mathis is eligible for restricted free agency come February 29th, meaning that if a team makes him an offer, the Texans will have seven days to match it.
