WR/KR Apostrophe Davis Re-Signs

WR/KR Specialist Andre Davis resigned with the Houston Texans Thursday afternoon after Texans GM Rick Smith and Davis’ agent Kennard McGuire agreed to a new contract.  According to the Houston Chronicle, the four-year, $16 million contract brings back Davis who was being offered deals from Oakland and Tennessee.  Davis was bound to have plenty more suitors if he hit the free agency on Thursday night.

Davis appeared in 14 games for the Texans and pulled in 33 receptions for 583 yards and three touchdowns.  Andre’s longest reception went for 53-yards and a touchdown while 19 of his receptions went for first downs, 10 receptions went for 20+ yards, and 5 receptions went for 40+ yards.  While kick returning, in 14 games Davis made 32 receptions for 968 yards for three touchdowns.  His longest kick return went for 104-yards and a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars while scoring his three touchdowns in one game.  He had 22 20+ returns and 4 40+ returns.  The kick return specialist took advantage of Jerome Mathis’ injury and definitely was worth the Texans signing on Thursday.
