Texans Sign LB Bentley

LB Kevin Bentley, an unrestricted free agent from the Seattle Seahawks, joined the Texans’ defense with a three year contract worth $4 million. At Seattle, the versatile 6′, 238lbs linebacker was locked behind the competitive trio of Julian Peterson, Lofa Tatupu and Le Roy Hill, but now in Houston he will have an opportunity for increased playing time.

The Texans have settled in defensively with MLB DeMeco Ryans and LOLB Morlon Greenwood, but it remains to see what the Texans will do on UFA ROLB Danny Clark. As Bentley had time playing under Texans assistant defensive back coach Ray Rhodes in Seattle, he brings his defensive familiarity and versatility to Houston. And just as UFA Charlie Anderson signed off to Miami, the Texans can explore what Bentley can bring on special teams and defense.
