Punter Matt Turk re-signed with the Houston Texans after visiting the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday. Turk signed a 2-year deal with the Texans worth $2.35 million with a $500,000 signing bonus. Turk’s impressive punting skills won him the starting job over Pro-Bowl punter Chad Stanley in 2007. His performance last season earned the 39-year old punter a higher average salary than most punters his age.

Turk has improved his kicking throughout his NFL career with the Redskins, Dolphins, Jets, Rams and finally with the Texans. In 2007, Turk averaged a 41.7-yard punt, a 37.9-net yards and placed 24 punts within the opponents 20-yard line.
