Andre Johnson will miss the rest of the team’s offseason workouts after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last Thursday. Johnson missed seven weeks last season after suffering a sprained left knee in Week Two against the Panthers. The 26-year-old Johnson, who had 60 catches for a team-high 851 yards and eight touchdowns last season, should be ready for training camp at the end of July.
Meantime, the Texans signed free agent tight end Ryan Krause and cornerback Jimmy Williams on Monday. The 26-year-old Krause had two catches for 11 yards in nine games with the Green Bay Packers last season. The 24-year-old Williams collected 16 tackles and one interception in 14 games with the Atlanta Falcons last year. The team also released tight end Cole Bennett.
Dang, Jimmy Williams??? Now that’s potential! Great pickup, hopefully he can prove himself worthy of the playing field in 08!
