The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Texans today signed seventh-round pick QB Alex Brink. Brink was a four year starter at Washington State and is the school’s all time leader in net passing yards with 11,015. Brink will compete with Shane Boyd to become the team’s third quarterback.  Here is the bio on Brink from the Cougfan.com:

Threw for 1,305 yards and seven TDs in 2004. Started final five games of the year after Josh Swogger was lost to injury. Guided Cougars to wins over UCLA and Washington down the stretch. Followed up with a solid 2005 spring season and then earned the starting nod over Swogger heading into the 2005 regular season. As a prep senior, was named league and state offensive player of the year. Concluded prep career with more passing yards than any QB in Oregon history (9,262) and the second-most passing TDs (92).
