Texans Sending Two Starters to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl

For the second time in franchise history, the Texans will have two starters on the Pro Bowl roster. Defensive end Mario Williams and receiver Andre Johnson were selected today to represent the AFC in the February 2009 contest showcasing the NFL’s elite players.

Williams, whose 11 sacks are second among AFC defensive linemen, will be making his Pro Bowl debut. Johnson, who is having a career year in his sixth season as a pro, will be making his third trip to Hawaii.

TE Owen Daniels, FB Vonta Leach, G Chester Pitts, LB DeMeco Ryans and RB Steve Slaton were all named as alternates for the AFC squad.
