Today’s Houston Chronicle is reporting that the The Texans have re-signed assistant head coach/offense Alex Gibbs and are elevating four other assistants, including Ray Rhodes.
The report says that the team will revamp the defensive staff, as Rhodes was elevated from assistant defensive backs coach who primarily worked with the safeties to senior defensive assistant.

The Texans have hired Long-time NFL defensive line coach Bill Kollar to replace Jethro Franklin, who was fired after the season. Kollar, 56, has been Buffalo’s defensive line coach the last three years. He also has coached the defensive line at St. Louis (2001-05) and Atlanta (1990-00).
The Texans today named David Gibbs as their defensive backs coach. Gibbs is the son of Texans assistant head coach Alex Gibbs. He has spent the previous three seasons as the defensive backs coach with Kansas City. He also was the secondary coach for the Broncos from 2001-04.

The Texans are increasing ticket prices by 3.7 percent next season, meaning the average price will be $67.37 a ticket compared to $64.94 last season when they finished with their second consecutive 8-8 record.

The Texans hired their senior defensive assistant, Frank Bush, as defensive coordinator today. Bush’s promotion wasn’t a surprise. He was the leading candidate and the only one interviewed for the defensive coordinator position that became available when Richard Smith was fired after the season.
