Progress Being Made by Okoye After Surgery

The Chronicle gives an update on the progress after surgery for DT Amobi Okoye:

Texans coach Gary Kubiak also sees progress by defensive tackle Amobi Okoye after a slow start to his camp following offseason surgery. “He’s practicing better,” Kubiak said. “The first few days, I didn’t think he was himself, but then he settled down and practiced pretty darn good. Usually with most players that relates to how they play the game, so we’ll see, but he’s definitely going to get his time on Saturday night. But I like the camp he’s having, and I think he’s been brought along the right way.” Okoye says his focus is only on being 100 percent prepared “for Sept. 13.” That’s when the Texans open the regular season against the New York Jets at Reliant Stadium.
