Kris Brown Inducted into Oil Bowl Hall of Fame

The Times Record News of Whichita Falls, Texas, reported that Houston Texans kicker Kris Brown has been inducted into the Oil Bowl Hall of Fame.  The Oil Bowl is a High School All-Star Game played between All-Star teams from Texas and Oklahoma, respectively.  Its primary purpose is to raise money for charities in each state. Brown, a Southlake Carroll football player and graduate, was a member of Texas’ Oil Bowl team in 1995 before playing for the University of Nebraska to become their all-time leading scorer and smash countless kicking records. For the states’ community, HoustonTexans.com reported that Brown has raised $384,000 for Texas Children’s Hospital Charity Care Program and has served on the NFL Charities Super Bowl Community Service committee. Texas beat Oklahoma in the 73rd Oil Bowl this past Saturday, June 12, 2010.
