First Round Pick Jackson Signs On in Time for Opening Day of Training Camp

The Houston Texans’ first round pick and last rookie of their draft 2010 class to sign has signed and was available for the opening day of training camp.  Early this morning Kareem Jackson agreed to a five year contract with the Texans worth $13.1 million ($10.35 million in guarantees).  He was not available for the morning practice, but he did play with the starting defense at the private training camp workout in the Texans practice bubble this afternoon.  There, Jackson appeared like a rookie: slow on routes and learning.  On the opening play between the number one offense and defense, Kevin Walter easily beat Jackson for a nifty grab.  Jacoby was the next receiver to victimize Jackson.  But that doesn’t mean Jackson looked too bad, he exhibited patience and discipline to learn from Frank Bush and the Texans D’s new leader, Bernard Pollard and his bark, snarl and yell.
