K Brown & Rackers Will Rotate Saturday

All offseason reports have shown that the Texans kickers are about even, opening up on August 3 with Brown going 5/6 and Rackers 6/6 playing with a full squad.  Wednesday morning brought different news.  Rackers went 3/5 while Brown 4/5 according to Jordan Goodwin of the Houston Chronicle.  Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com reported that long snapper Jon Week’s may have caused the extra misses late in practice due to his high snaps.  Kubiak had this to say about Weeks:

“Obviously, this kid is going into his first NFL action this weekend.  Are we going to keep a snapper (on the final 53-man roster)? He’ll have to be automatic if we’re going to do that. If not, then we may be back leaning on Joel Dreessen from that standpoint. So not only our kickers are in a big competition, but Weeks has got to prove to us he can do it.”

Goodwin reported that the two kickers will rotate kicks in Saturday’s game against Racker’s former career team, the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale.
