Rookie Jackson to Miss First Preseason Game

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported that rookie first round pick Kareem Jackson will miss the first preseason game of the 2010 NFL season.  Jackson’s grandmother passed away, and Jackson will be attending funeral services in Georgia.  He will be replaced by second year corner Brice McCain.  Three days ago, Jordan Godwin of the Houston Chronicle reported that defensive coordinator Frank Bush said has been looking more physically and mentally prepared during camp.  McCain said on his improvement:

“Everything moves a lot slower for me this year, and I’m having a good time. I think my game improved a lot in the offseason, and I’m hoping that shows on the field.”
