The Houston Texans have placed rookie running back Ben Tate and fourth-year defensive end Tim Bulman on the Injured Reserve, ending each player’s season before it truly began. Bulman’s troublesome shoulder injury landed him on the IR Monday. Tate’s injured ankle will require surgery, and will move his NFL regular season debut to September 2011.
In response to Tate’s IR move, the Texans will shift Chris Henry and Jeremiah Johnson up to the third and fourth string running back positions. Also, in response to Bulman’s IR move, the Texans signed James Wyche. Wyche has played three NFL regular season games with the St. Louis Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars. He was the Jags’ seventh round pick in 2006. He played for Syracuse and stands tall at 6’5″, 279 lbs.
