Texans Lose Barwin for Season

If you saw defensive end Connor Barwin’s leg injury, you knew it was serious.  Well, yesterday head coach Gary Kubiak confirmed the extent of the injury, noting that Barwin has a dislocated ankle that will take him out for the season.  Jesse Nading replaced Barwin in the game and made three big plays for the Texans’ defense.  The Texans will look to pick up a defensive end to recover from the loss at the defensive line.  Tim Jamison will also put in work with Barwin’s absence. Both Derrick Burgess and Aaron Schobel are available although Schobel will likely stay in retirement.  For Nading though, Kubiak was pleased with his effort:

“It looked like Jesse played a great deal and ended up getting that last onside kick.  That’s part of this game. You lose players; you don’t want to lose guys. We lost a very important one today, but it gives someone else the chance to come in. Somebody has to step up.”
