Texans Open Astroworld Lot to Non-Ticket Holders

The Houston Texans will updated their parking policy this evening via ABC 13.  The owner of the Astroworld lot will open up his parking area to individuals at $20 per vehicle.  Presumably like the policy that non-ticket holders (except for authorized pass holders) are not allowed on the Reliant lots, this policy should take effect when the Texans play the New York Giants in two weeks.  These policies are major wins for the Houston Texans.  One, they earn profound trust from season ticket holders, whose complaints of safety and space are addressed and satisfied.   Second, non-ticket holders still have the opportunity to tailgate, although at a price and on the otherside of 610. Third, the Texans are increasing security and staffing.  Lastly, the Texans will make money inside: with faster parking there will be more people in Reliant Stadium purchasing food, drinks and Texans products for a longer period time before game time.
