Texans Injury Update: Johnson, Jones, Pollard & Wilson

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported that wide receivers Andre Johnson and Jacoby Jones could be game-time decisions Sunday at home against the New York Giants.  ESPN’s Stephania Bell said he’s feeling better since Week 4 and will practice Thursday.  Jones strained a calf muscle in the second quarter of the Oakland game.  Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said “Jacoby’s got a pretty good calf issue. We’ll probably know more about him on Wednesday.”

On the other side of the field, Bernard Pollard suffered a shoulder injury classified as only a stinger.  HoustonTexans.com reported Kubiak after the game:

“We think he’s going to be fine.  We did some x-rays on him today and everything was OK.  He just really had a stinger more than anything.  He had some big, big collisions, made some big hits in the game, so we think he’ll be OK.”

Kubiak also hopes Eugene Wilson will be back healthy this week.  Troy Nolan played well in the backup free safety position behind Dominique Barber, who took Wilson’s place Sunday.
