Texans’ Schaub Nominated for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week

The Houston Texans’ comeback quarterback, Matt Schaub, has been nominated for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week following his Week 6 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.  Three NFL quarterbacks are nominated for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week, recognizing each week’s starting quarterbacks superior efforts among their fellow professionals.  Fans vote for the player whose play they admired most. This week’s nominees include the Eagles’ Kevin Kolb (23/29 for 326 yards & 3 TDs/1 pick), the Colts’ Peyton Manning (25/38 for 307 yards & 2 TDs), and the Texans’ Matt Schaub. Schaub completed 25 of 33 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns in the Texans comeback, down-to-the-wire win over the Kansas City Chiefs.  Schaub and the Texans’ offense have delivered in all the wins and the defense has stood its ground enough for the offense to sqeak by in some wins.  Following the win, Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said his quarterback was “special” on Sunday.

“Our quarterback was absolutely spectacular.  You can’t win games like that in this league unless your quarterback is special, and ours was special today.”
