Owner McNair Ordered PED Search in Players’ Locker Room Last Month

USA Today was first to break the news regarding the Houston Texans owner, Bob McNair’s, ordering of staff to search the player’s locker room for any performance enhancing drugs.  The search occurred last month according to team spokesman Kevin Cooper.  The Texans have already lost two vital starters this season to suspensions.   Duane Brown and Brian Cushing violated the league’s performance enhancing drug policy and each served four game suspensions.  Brown’s now returning, and McNair obviously did not want to take a chance with letting another player take an illegal supplement on his premises. The Associated Press reported Bob McNair said the they’re doing all they can do to keep their players clean.

“We concluded that one thing we can do is to just go through the locker room and make sure that if anybody is using anything, it’s a product from one of the approved manufacturers.  That’s about all that we can do.”
