Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said on Tuesday that the Texans first overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft, Mario Williams, has “no excuses” for his one-tackle performance in Monday night’s loss at Indianapolis. Furthermore, the former Pro Bowl defensive end hasn’t registered a sack in three games after dealing with groin and shoulder injuries. However, Kubiak says don’t blame the injuries:
“I think he’s fine. There’s a lot of guys beat up this time of year. But he’s got no excuses. He’s playing hard. He was close last night. I thought we made (Colts QB) Peyton (Manning) move around, get rid of the ball and did a pretty good job as a group from that standpoint. You’re never going to have a lot of sacks against him. It’s just about making him get rid of it.”
Thats All Fine and Dandy, yes I said Dandy, But Gary Kubiak has NO Excuses. Time is Up, Kubiak should resign, and go to College Station.
Hahaha Brad, you must be a Longhorns fan with that sure rejection of Kube. But I don’t know if College Station would go after two straight former Texan coaches, even if Kubiak’s an alum. Thanks for the comments, I agree Kubiak has no more excuses but he’s too good to leave! He has a stellar offensive play book that if combined with a real defensive coordinator, then the Texans can make a run at greatness. We’ve been saying the same thing for the past 8 years, we need offensive line, defensive line and cornerback help! Hopefully the Texans fire Bush, a great football personality but not coach…here.
