FF: Can you really sit Foster in Week 11?

If you’re an Arian Foster owner this season, then I’m sure you’re struggling with whether to start the number one fantasy running back this weekend against the nasty New York Jets defense at Giants Stadium.  And if there’s any week to bench him, its this week for sure. Rex Ryan and his Jets defense sit fifth overall in league defense and fifth overall in rush defense.  In fact, for the past two years, Ryan and his defenses have simply demolished the Texans’ offense.

For two straight years Rex Ryan has had the Texans’ number.  In 2008, Hurricane Ike delayed the Texans-Ravens match-up.  Then, Ravens’ defensive coordinator Ryan led his defense to four picks and a 41-13 win.  Week 1 of last season included Ryan’s New York Jets demolishing the Texans’ offense to the tune of 183 total Texan offensive yards. Although the Texans’ offense has added a running game, expect Ryan to smash the Texans offense once again.  I’d sit Foster even for the likes of Cedric Benson at Buffalo or the Jets’ backup running back, Shonn Greene, against the Texans’ defense.

Did you learn your lesson about our guy here? I started him, and did so with confidence. It turns out he may just me matchup proof!

Well we all make mistakes, but Arian is one guy that can do whatever he wants on any defense, any given week 🙂

After watching him 11 weeks he has also emerged as my fav player in the game right now! 😀

You’re absolutely right, I ended up starting him in my league. It took everyone telling me I was crazy, and finding out early in the game the Jets aren’t the same from last year. Terrible forecasting on my side, Foster’s the real deal!
