Pollard Doesn’t Want to Let Texans Offense Down; Doesn’t Underestimate Rusty Smith

The Houston Texans starting strong safety has always been the most vocal defensive playmaker for the Texans in 2010.  After practice Friday, he told John McClain of the Houston Chronicle that he doesn’t want to let his offense down.

“We have to show our offense that we can go out and not lose a game.”

He also told McClain that he doesn’t want to see Rusty Smith throw for 350 yards on the Texans defense.

“They’re saying he’s going to throw for 350 on us.  I don’t know who Rusty Smith is, but I’m not going to underestimate him.

“Who are we to question who he is? He’s thinking the same thing about us: ‘Who are they?’

“I honestly think (the Titans) will come into the game saying, ‘We’re going to throw the ball. We’re going to do what we do best — our bread and butter is running the ball – but we’re going against a team that’s dead last.’

“Wouldn’t you take shots at us?”
