Monday Night Scouting Report: Ravens TE Heap Unlikely to Play

The Baltimore Sun reported that Baltimore Ravens tight end Todd Heap is unlikely to play this Monday night against the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium.  After suffering a hamstring injury in the first play of the Ravens 10-13 loss to Pittsburgh, Heap was unable to return.  AFter practice Monday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh reported that Heap doesn’t appear to be on track to play Monday.

“I think Todd’s probably the one that we really are concerned about.  I don’t want to rule him out yet, but it doesn’t look good for next week. It’s one of those hamstring pulls that’s going to be tough. The young guys are going to have to step up.”

If Heap does miss, that would alleviate a lot of the pressure the Texans have in facing a well-equipped offense with a stout tight end.  Bernard Pollard and Brian Cushing could resume their most regular coverage and attack schemes, while the defensive line has a less able blocker to handle.
