Former Houston Texans running back Ahman Green, 34, recently told the Associated Press that he agreed to play in the Canadian Football League next season for the league’s top team, the Montreal Alouettes. The team previously announced he received a tryout contract on February 11. Last season the Alouettes won the CFL’s heralded Grey Cup, and they will start defending it in June.
Ahman Green signed with the Texans in March of 2007 to a four-year, $23 million deal. He was injury prone and heavily used in a running back by committe approach. He was released in February of 2009. Green then resigned and retired with the Packers, his team of seven total seasons.
