Pro Bowl FB Leach Sees Writing on the Wall that Texans Don’t Want Him Back

Pro Bowl FB Vonta Leach told Houston KHOU 11 News that he believes his time with the Texans is coming to an end.  Citing the team’s failure to contact his agent before or after the lockout, as well as stories which have surfaced that the team will not be re-signing him, Leach believes the writing’s on the wall.

“I played in the league long enough to know when writing is on the wall. If I played my last game as a Texan I enjoyed my 5 years.”

Vonta Leach expressed he enjoyed his time with the team but only at the right price.  Leach said, “I want to come back, there is no doubt, I want to come back.  At the same time, I want to get the market value that is out there.”

In 2010, Leach made the Pro Bowl in 2010 and set up monster blocks for the NFL’s rushing title holder, Pro Bowl running back Arian Foster.  Leach has played a valuable role on the Texans’offensive scheme for three seasons.  Although it is not known whether the Texans truly will part ways with Leach due to the lockout, the team already has met with UNC fullback Ryan Taylor this offseason.  The Texans front office might be making their first big mistake of 2011 if they let Leach slide away at the right price.
