Lockout Lifted?

A federal judge declared an end to the lockout yesterday; of course, pending a federal appeals’ judge’s decision in favor of the owners.  However, this morning the United States District Judge for the District of Minnesota Susan Richard Nelson said she would take another to decide her order.  If she affirms her ruling, in which she did not place a stay, the NFL could have to answer the following questions very quickly:  whether transactions will be allowed in the 2011 Draft, only two days from now; whether players can return to their practice facilities and whether coaches can coach those players.  Allowing transactions would not only allow the Texans to move-up or down the draft board, but also use 2012 picks in the process. The Texans have been thought of around the league as one of the teams who are more likely to be moving around on draft day.

April 26, 2011, 3:12 P.M. EDIT: Judge Nelson will issue her decision tomorrow, April 27.  The owners’ biggest concern is allowing teams to begin making transactions without having a collective bargaining agreement in place.
