Texans Second Round Pick Can’t Wait to Get Started with Defensive Talents

The Houston Texans second round pick, Arizona defensive end and upcoming Houston Texans outside linebacker Brooks Reed, is excited to be joining a talented group of front defensive players.  The Texans front seven will include: OLBs Brooks Reed & Connor Barwin, MLBsDeMeco Ryans & Brian Cushing, DEs Mario Williams & J.J. Watt, and DT Earl Mitchell.   On playing in the Texans’ front seven, Chron.com reported Reed can’t wait:

“I still can’t believe it.  I can’t believe I’m going to play with guys like that. I can’t wait to get there and get started.”

The Arizona Daily Star reported that Reed will be re-joining former Arizona DT Earl Mitchell.

“That’s kind of cool, right?” Reed said. “Maybe something special’s coming out of this.”

The Star also reported that Texans linebackers coach Reggie Herring already has Day 1 plans for Reed, “I think Day 1, when he comes in, we’re expecting him to play.  Whether he’s a starter or not, that’ll be up to him.”
