Former Texans QB Released from CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos

Former Houston Texans quarterback Jared Zabransky was released by the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Eskimo’s last Wednesday.  Zabransky signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent.  For the Eskimo’s, Zabransky was signed in 2009 as a third string quarterback. In 2010 he worked primarily as a backup until his release.  In the two games he started, he threw 51% for 609 yards, four touchdowns and 10 interceptions.  He rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown on 28 attempts.  The Edmonton Sun reported Eskimos head coach Kavis Reed spoke highly of Zabransky:

“Jared did an outstanding job for the Edmonton Eskimos.  Systematically, we didn’t feel that he fit in.”
