Smith Tried to Move Up to Get Either Von Miller or Patrick Peterson

Yahoo reports that while the Texans had their sights set on moving up to get either OLB Von Miller or CB Patrick Peterson, the team felt that their pick was too important to move away from.

GM Rick Smith tried to trade up with Denver to get OLB Von Miller and Arizona to get CB Patrick Peterson. Any deal had to include the Texans’ second-round pick, but Smith refused to part with it. It’s a premium pick, and the Texans have too many holes to fill on defense.
