Texans WR Andre Johnson out until Bye Week?

Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson suffered a hamstring injury in Week four and underwent surgery two weeks ago.

Johnson told SportsRadio 610 Tuesday that he’s ahead of the typical rehab schedule for this prodecure.

“I’m headed in the right direction,” Johnson said. “I just want it to heal faster. Right now it’s still weak; it’s not as strong as it use to be.”

“They say it could take up to six weeks at the most,” Johnson said. ”But I don’t think it will take me that long.”

If it takes the full six weeks, (already including the two weeks missed), that would leave the Miami product to be sidelined until Week 11, the team’s Bye Week.

If so, the former Hurricane would return November 27 at Jacksonville.

Schaub beat up: According to Texans head coach Gary Kubiak, quarterback Matt Schaub is dealing with two injuries that could limit him this week in practice, as the team prepares for the AFC South-leading Titans this Sunday in Nashville.

“Matt’s just beat up,” Kubiak said. “He’s got a sore hip and a bruised chest. He’s probably going to get some rest (from practice) this week like we did last week. As far as (starting in) the Tennessee game, he’s fine. He can start without practicing.”
