Former Texans RB Derrick Ward Retires

Eight year veteran running back Derrick Ward has announced his retirement via Twitter.

To all my fans just wanted to let u know its been a great ride the last 9yrs but I’m calling it a career. I thank u all for believing in me!

Ward played for the Giants, Bucs and Texans during his career. He ran for 2,628 yards on 551 carries with 12 touchdowns. He also had 96 receptions for 787 yards and three touchdowns. His best year was in 2008 when he rushed for 1,025 yards for the Giants.
