Texans Keep QB John Beck: Will Try and Sneak Keenum on Practice Squad

Quarterback John Beck has made the Texans’ 53-man roster. The quarterback played his way onto the squad and beat out undrafted rookie Case Keenum, who was released. Keenum could go on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Just a year ago, Beck was competing for a starting job with the Washington Redskins.

“It’s different, but this is a special place,” Beck said last night. “I’ve been a handful of places. the Houston Texans organization is awesome, the players in this locker room are awesome. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wanted to be here. When I stepped out onto the field I wanted to play so that I could be here.”
