Late TD in OT Bails Out Texans in 43-37 Win Over Jaguars

A win is a win, and in the case of the Texans, they will gladly take it.

The Texans were taken to the limit by the game Jags on Sunday in Houston, as it took a late touchdown by Andre Johnson in OT with 2:01 to play to help Houston top the now 1-9 Jags 43-37.

The game was chock full of ups and downs, with the Jags leading by 14 with 12:33 to play, and then in OT the Jags had a great shot after a pick and return to the Houston 47.

Jacksonville couldn’t get the 10 yards for the first, and then on fourth down tried a pass play, and Chad Henne threw incomplete.

The Texans needed just two plays, as Matt Schaub hit Johnson with a screen, and he raced down the sideline for the touchdown and the win.

Schaub threw for 527 passing yards and five scores, and Johnson had 14 grabs for 273 yards with the game-winner in OT.

The win puts the Texans at 9-1, while the Jags are now 8 games under .500, and have just one win on the season.

Henne, playing for the injured Blaine Gabbert, threw for 354 yards on 16-for-33 passing. He also threw four touchdowns in the heartbreaking loss.

The Jags laid out a blueprint for the teams on the rest of the Texans’ schedule; i.e. play to stop the run, make Schaub throw short, and make him throw in the red zone. Not looking forward to the game with the Lions. After what Blackmon did to us today, what can we expect from Calvin Johnson? UGH!!!

Watch and replay of the winning TD and see K. Walter and Derek Newton throw key blocks, especially the former.Perfectly executed bubble screen.
