Breaking News: Duane Brown ruled out for week 3 vs the Baltimre Ravens

The Houston Texans have reported Duane Brown will not be available for this weeks game against the Baltimore Ravens. The announcement is not a huge surprise. Duane Brown left the game after suffering a sprained toe during Sundays battle against the rival Titans. Ryan Harris did a good job while Brown was looked at on the sideline before returning. It is Harris that will get the start in place of Brown. Ryan Harris is a 3rd round pick out of Notre Dame in the 2007 draft and has been with the Texans since signing in 2012. He spent last season sharing the right tackle spot with Derek Newton. Although Harris has not played much left tackle in the pros he has practiced the position and played the position in college so he says he will be comfortable and capable. The injury doesn’t appear to be anything that will require a great deal of time to heal, so hopefully Brown will be back soon. But Harris will have his hands full as the Texans take on the Ravens in Baltimore. But the veteran tackle has plenty of experience in the league with 34 starts. He also allowed just 2.5 sacks in 2008, so he has played at a high level in the past. Now he just has to regain his old form and protect Schaub’s blind side. Look for Kubiak to try to move the pocket if the pocket breaks down early. Ed Reed might be making his first appearance and that will help give the defence a boost and possibly give the team what it needs to get off to a good start and allow Harris to get into a groove. Try to enjoy your Saturday because if you’re anything like me tomorrow will be plenty of yelling and screaming at the TV, and thats just at the media coverage slurping on Dallas, Manning/Brady/Rodgers and whatever else non Texan they can come up with to talk about before kickoff but….. Once it starts enjoy the game and GO TEXANS!!!
