Clowney to Get Second Opinion On Injured Knee

Texans rookie linebacker and the NFL’s No. 1-overall draft pick Jadeveon Clowney is seeking a second opinion from famed surgeon Dr. James Andrews on his injured knee according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

It is rarely a good sign for any player to visit a doctor synonymous with surgeries on prominent athletes but in this case there is not yet reason to believe Dr. Andrews will deliver bad news.

It is, however, possible that Clowney will be shut down for the remainder of the season with only four regular season games remaining.

Clowney has flashed spectacular ability on the field at times during his rookie campaign but unfortunately has spent too much of it on the sidelines and in the training room with a variety of ailments. Until he is able to return full-time to the field, whispers about his level of desire and his work ethic will continue.
