Texans Assistant GM and VP of Player Personnel Jimmy Raye III Chats with the Panthers for GM Spot

Texans vice president of player personnel and assistant general manager Jimmy Raye III is interviewing Thursday for the Panthers’ general manager vacancy, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Raye was interviewed by the Texans for the general manager position that was filled by Brian Gaine.

Raye joined the Texans last year and he worked closely with former general manager Rick Smith, who’s taken a leave of absence to care for his wife as she battles cancer.

The top candidate for the Panthers’ job is interim general manager Marty Hurney. The Panthers have also been linked to Buffalo Bills executive Lake Dawson.
