The Raiders announced Sunday they are releasing running back Doug Martin according to NFL Network, a player that likely would get a long look by the Texans.
Houston is going to need help at the RB spot after losing Lamar Miller to what appears to be a torn ACL.
Martin came back to the Raiders this offseason after rushing for 723 yards while averaging 4.2 yards per carry in Oakland last season.
The veteran back likely wouldn’t cost much, as he cost the Raiders just $1.02 million for a one-year deal, something the Texans could afford as the look for running backs.
This preseason saw Martin get just two carries for 1 yard.
