Texans Rumors: WR Will Fuller Expected To Bail via Free Agency This Offseason

The Texans may be on the verge of losing another playmaker this offseason (as if losing Deshaun Watson isn’t enough), as reports say wide out Will Fuller may take his talents elsewhere via free agency.

Fuller who played his college ball at Notre Dame has been a staple in the Texans receiving core the last few seasons, but it looks like at the very least he’ll test the free agency market.

One thing the Texans can do to keep Fuller around is place the franchise tag on him, but then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Fuller declare he’s sitting out until he gets more than a one-year deal.

Another issue that could scare teams is that Fuller has had injury issues, playing in 53 of a possible 80 games as he’s had to watch plenty of games from the sidelines.

The 26-year-old has never played more than 14 games in a season, and that came back in his rookie year of 2016. This last season he played in 11 games, making a career-high 53 receptions for 879 receiving yards, pulling in eight touchdowns and averaging 16.6 yards per catch.

Finally there was the issue in late November of 2020 when Fuller was hit with a six-game suspension for violating the league’s PED policy.

Fuller has a ton of potential and he’ll find a home this offseason in Houston or with another NFL squad and it wouldn’t be a stunner to see him ink with a team that is looking to add a playmaker at the receiver spot.
